Dr. Carter Speaks on Arts & Worship
Student of the Olivet College of Art & Design (OCAD) participated in a seminar on the topic of Arts & Worship led by OCAD Dean Dr. Joan Carter. The seminar took place at the Graduate Theological Union located in the University of California campus.
Visuals are a powerful tool when effectively used during worship as it creates a spiritual mood or atmosphere. Dr. Carter presented visual examples of how environment spaces can be created for worship services.
Student of OCAD were impressed with the seminar and its variety of discussions on materials, projections, scale, color, and themes that can be effectively put to use for special services or events.
The goal of the seminar was to give students practical insight into how art and design can be applied to the church and its worship services.
